Wireless charging company Chargifi was founded in 2013 after its founder, 27 year old Dan Bladen, spotted a gap in the market.

Dan had just returned from a six months travelling the world with his wife Jessica. While they were away, the couple found themselves constantly running out of power for their devices

So on his return to the UK, Dan got together with to his friend, co-founder and non-executive director Charlie Cannell and the question came up – how might  we  give venues like coffee shops, bars, hotels and airports the ability to offer customers a wireless charging service while gaining valuable insight into their customer’s behaviour?

The answer was Chargifi, and the company has wasted no time tapping into a market for wireless power that is estimated to be worth $25.6bn by 2023 (Global Inights 2016)

A passionate believer in finding ways of using technology to solve every day problems, Dan grew up in Suffolk, selling lawnmowers for his father’s garden machinery company, playing with network components and building computers to sell to friends.

A theology graduate, he managed the network and systems design for a £6.5m building project while Director of Technology at St. Paul’s Church in Hammersmith before starting Chargifi.

Dan is a Techstars alumini, serves on the leadership team of the Airfuel Alliance and lives in Sussex with his wife and two small children. When not in the office, Dan can be found in venues with fast WiFi, Antipodean coffee and convenient power!
