Tech in teaching to be explored at Talis Insight Europe 2017

The conference will host library leaders and professionals in HE on 25th - 26th April in Birmingham

Posted by Charley Rogers | March 30, 2017 | Events

Over two days this conference will explore the role of libraries in the institutional strategy and impact of technology on learning and teaching.

The recently published agenda includes a keynote by Bill Rammell, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of University of Bedfordshire. Mark Toole, Head of Libraries and Learning Resources at Nottingham Trent University will also be hosting a Higher Education Leaders Panel at the end of day one of the conference. Panellists on this panel include Dr Joanna Newman, Vice-Principal (International), King’s College London, Stephanie Marshall - Chief Executive Officer, Higher Education Academy (HEA), and Diana Beech, Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Higher Education Policy Institute.

Over the two days, we will also be hearing from a number of Library Directors from UK Universities. Speakers include Rosie Jones, Director of Library Services at The Open University, and Jason Briddon, Director of Library Services at the University of West of England, Bristol. In addition to some great plenary sessions, we will be hearing from universities on their experiences with Talis Aspire and how it is supporting their successes.

Dave Errington, CEO of Talis, will once again be sharing our insights and our vision to continue supporting our universities with their current and future challenges. The Talis Awards Dinner will take place on the evening of Day One to celebrate the contributions and successes of the Talis user group community and is an excellent opportunity for delegates to network and meet their peers in a less formal setting.

This is the third time Talis have hosted this annual conference, which saw over 200 delegates attend in 2016. This year delegates from over 70 UK institutions are already registered to attend the conference, and once more in excess of 200 attendees are expected to take part.

Talis Insight Europe 2017 is free to attend for anyone working in Higher Education institutions. Join us at the REP in Birmingham on 25th - 26th April 2017. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first come basis.
