Educate announces EdWards recipients ahead of Bett
UCL’s Educate programme has announced the 24 companies to receive marks of industry quality
Educate has announced its second round of recipients for the EdWard quality mark.
The awards will be presented at next week’s Bett show at London’s Excel.
The EdWards consist of Evidence-Aware and Evidence-Applied categories, the first demonstrating an understanding of Educate’s evidence-led approach, and the second demonstrating the application of that awareness to improve the quality of the delivery or development of their concept.
21 companies will receive an Evidence-Aware award, including:
• Beebop Technology
• Big Minnow Ltd
• Blue Duck Education (Mangahigh)
• Discovery Education UK
• El Izi Communications Consultancy UK Ltd (Brands Whispering)
• Evidence B
• Get My Grades
• Institute of Physics
• Interactive Scientific
• Pinemarten Education Ltd (SmartRubric)
• Pobble Education Ltd
• Pocket Stress Buster
Three additional companies will be awarded the Evidence-Led award:
• Across Cultures
This year’s EdWards host will be Sophie Bailey, founder of The Edtech Podcast.
She told Education Technology: “I’m looking forward to hosting the EdWards and shining a light on some of the work that has been done to bring educational research closer to edtech product and service development. I know how hard these teams will have worked together, and it is a great move for edtech to think about measuring change so that we can really focus on what has impact, as well as bringing joy to users and sparking that lifelong interest in learning.”
The presentation evening will begin at 6pm on January 25 with a drinks reception, and the formal ceremony will take place from 6.45pm.
