F1 in Schools world finalists experience real-life Grand Prix

The competition final will be held alongside a round of the Formula 1 World Championship, and expects to attract 60 teams from across the globe

The world final of F1 in Schools will be hosted in Abu Dhabi, alongside the F1 World Championship in November.

Finalists will compete over three days, beginning on 24 November, concluding with an awards celebration and dinner on 27 November. Following the competition finalists will have the opportunity to view the Grand Prix for the following four days.

The event will host over 300 students, their pit displays, the F1 in Schools 20-metre track, and judging areas.

Andrew Denford, founder and chairman of F1 in Schools, said: “I know our students are going to have the most amazing time in Abu Dhabi for the World Finals and then to have a chance to go to the Grand Prix, makes it extra special.

“These are the Formula 1 engineers, marketeers and team managers of the future and they gain so much inspiration from experiencing the occasion first-hand, it will give them the memories of a lifetime.”

Abu Dhabi has hosted the F1 in Schools on two previous occasions, in 2012 and 2014.
