University of Buckingham announces AI-taught MBA

The course has launched in partnership with Oxademy Business School, and is available online

The University of Buckingham has launched an online MBA in partnership with Oxademy Business School, using AI to adapt the course to individual learners.

The course uses a distance-learning platform combined with artificial intelligence to adapt to each student’s individual learning style.

All students will start the course on the same path, and the system will then personalise content depending on how they learn best.

A live tutor is available 24/7, and can be accessed via online chat, phone calls, or callbacks. Students can also log in to live seminars hosted at the University of Buckingham with other students, or can catch up at a time that suits them.

The programme’s online learning platform can be accessed via computer, smartphone or tablet, and can send notifications to wearable tech such as smartwatches.

We use a sophisticated AI engine at the heart of the platform to recognise and adapt to the needs of each user to create a personalised learning path.
– Professor Keith Straughan, Oxademy

Professor Keith Straughan, CEO of Oxademy Business School, said: “Conventional online learning is very rigid and directs each learner along an identical linear learning path without regard to the learning needs or preferences of the individual. This often makes online courses uninspiring.

“We use a sophisticated AI engine at the heart of the platform to recognise and adapt to the needs of each user to create a personalised learning path. This provides a more immersive learning experience with consequent greater engagement and better outcomes.”

Core modules of the course include strategy, business environment, corporate finance, entrepreneurial spirit, marketing, technology management, operations, strategic HR and leadership and teamwork.

The programme is open for enrolment on a monthly basis, and students can take between 18 months and five years to complete it. Students can also pay in one go, or on a pay-as-you-go basis. This allows users to pause the course and continue at a later date.
