Why Jisc CEO Paul Feldman is adamant the organsiation is 'not, and never will be, a MOOC provider'

In an interview published this week, Jisc CEO Paul Feldman set out Jisc's mission as 'the digital arm of the higher, further and research sectors'. In the interview with The Edtech Podcast, Feldman stated JISC was in 'in the business of enabling pedagogy'  'not in the business of pedagogy', closing down any interest in being a MOOCs provider. 

Instead, aspirations to build on international outreach, joining up best practice across EdTech both geographically in the UK, and across the further and higher education sectors, were highlighted. Paul Feldman also alluded to the student learner journey project, which is collecting anonymised data from 85 universities to help map best practice in learning. Of this, Feldman stated: 'We are going to build this enormous, and unique, and quite fantastic, warehouse of UK learning.’
