Tech retailer celebrates 25th anniversary with £35k treasure hunt

Taking place throughout September, Box’s treasure hunt will see them hiding prizes in towns and cities across the UK

An online tech retailer is celebrating its 25th anniversary by stashing boxes containing thousands of pounds’ worth of prizes in a country-wide treasure hunt.

Box will hide two caches in one of four UK towns or cities on Thursdays in September (2, 9, 16 and 23), each containing the likes of gaming headsets, soundbars, TVs, laptops, and PCs.

Totalling circa £35,000, the postcodes of the prizes’ locations will be revealed in the week leading up to each box hunt on the company’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram channels.

A separate competition will be held on Box’s website and social media channels on September 30.

“We’re very proud to be celebrating our 25th anniversary this year,” said Mark Jordan, Box founder and CEO, “and we couldn’t let the milestone pass without shouting about it.

“Having been in business for a quarter of a century, we have amazing relationships with the manufacturers we work alongside, and they’ve stepped forward by donating some of the most sought-after items in the tech world.

“It’s a really simple premise – find it, grab it, win it.”

Acer, Samsung, Logitech, Philips, Sharp and LG are among the tech companies taking part in Box’s treasure hunt.

Since launching in 1996, the e-commerce business has grown to employ more than 100 people. In 2020, it was named PCR Awards’ online retailer of the year for the second year in a row.
