All in a year’s work

ET editor Rebecca Paddick recaps the last 12 months in the world of edtech

Where have the past 12 months gone? The say the older you get the faster time flies, and it feels like this year travelled at supersonic speed.

Maybe I am just getting old, but I think I’ll put it down to the rate in which our sector has grown over the past year. Edtech was one of the fastest growing tech sectors across Britain in 2015, with a number of significant developments helping to enhance teaching and learning in our schools, colleges and universities.

And as the old year draws to a close and a new one begins, so we can look forward to another year at the UK’s biggest event for learning technology; Bett is back. Now in its 32nd year, the four-day show is once again set to provide education professionals with an opportunity to see, touch and test the latest and most groundbreaking technologies, providing them with a taste of how these can be used to revolutionise learning. Read our full preview of this year’s event on page 49.

It’s been a fascinating year, but we’re excited to see what the next 12 months will bring.

From all the team here at ET, thank you to all of our readers, contributors and partners for your support throughout 2015. Here’s to a prosperous new year in the world of edtech.
