ISE opens doors in Amsterdam

Rebecca Paddick arrives in Amsterdam, where Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is now underway at the RAI

The 11th annual Integrated Systems Europe is now open for business a the RAI in Amsterdam.

I arrived this morning just before the show officially opened to find some of the AV industry’s key players setting up their exhibition stands.

ISE was launched in 2004 and has seen huge growth year-on-year. The first event, held in Switzerland, attracted 120 exhibitors and just under 3,500 attendees. ISE 2013 saw a record-breaking 894 exhibitors and 44,151 attendees pass through the doors of the Amsterdam RAI, and this year is predicted to be bigger again.

Speaking at yesterday’s pre-show event, Mike Blackman, ISE managing director said: “This is the smoothest build-up we’ve ever had. We’ve grown, by more than 6%, up to 952 exhibitors. That’s a big increase, especially in these times. As for attendance, we’re not releasing figures yet, but it’s definitely got a lot larger. We’re expecting great feedback [from exhibitors].”

My focus, as always, will be on the education sector, so I’m interested to find out about the latest technology about to makes its way into our schools, colleges and universities.

As this year’s gathering occupies all 12 halls of the RAI, I still have a lot to see, so keep an eye on the ET website over the next few days for more information, interviews and pictures from this years event
