Looking through the nominees for this first ever Young Leaders Awards from University Business was a real treat.
The candidates really do have it all; youth, brains and the determination to succeed in the fast-paced arena of higher education. From digital divas to admin experts, innovation in marketing and top networking skills, it was a pleasure to attend the judging day and see the amazing work going on by youngsters in our universities and colleges.
As one of our panel judges commented, these awards are a real celebration of all that is good in our higher education sector, and that recognising these young leaders is critically important for our organisations. There is a sentiment that younger people can be sometimes overlooked in the sector and we’ve seen a great response with managers and team members really getting behind those they feel deserve some extra recognition.
