International tech academy launches in UK, offering alternative study route for software developers

Boolean’s six-month remote programme prepares learners to flourish in one of the world’s most lucrative professions

UK residents will now be able to consider an alternative study route if they are looking to switch to a career in software development, following the launch of international online technology academy Boolean.

With Tech Nation reporting that software developers are the most in-demand professionals sought by employers today, and salaries and opportunities presented across the field looking increasingly promising, Boolean’s six-month remote learning programme offers the skills and support needed to secure a job as a full-stack developer.

Students on the course learn via both theory and practical sessions delivered five days a week, also gaining access to the academy’s careers support service which helps them land a job in the industry. As part of Boolean’s commitment to giving students a leg up in their careers, graduates who do not manage to secure employment six months after completing the programme will receive a full refund.

On the launch of the programme, the academy’s head of UK admissions and placement, Patrick Lynott, commented: “We have designed our service for the sole purpose of giving students everything they need to be equipped when starting their software developer career. We want to modernise and democratise tech education, supporting people to retrain and reskill for the digital future of work. Unlike other bootcamps, we understand that switching career goes beyond just learning to code. We take a student-centric approach, helping people to learn technical concepts and practical skills in a short timeframe.”

Despite the complications caused by the pandemic, added Lynott, more than 95% of the academy’s 2020 cohort have now successfully launched a career in software development.

“With the demand for tech skills in the UK continuing to grow,” he explained, “there is a need for a new approach and the Boolean tech academy is perfectly suited to meet the needs of both employees looking to create a new career from scratch and employers looking to hire tech talent in the UK.”
