All their locks feature RFID ‘contactless’ technology, where old fashioned magnetic-strip cards and metal keys have been replaced by keycards, working in a similar way to modern debit and credit cards. Advantages over older systems include the keycards being exceptionally robust and, if lost, can be re-made instantly using on-site lock management software.
Looking ahead, TLJ are about to launch their Mobile Keys platform. Physical keys will be done away with all together, replaced by the user’s smartphone. A mobile app, available on iOS and Android, acts as the ‘key’ using an encrypted code sent via the cloud. The user simply taps ‘unlock’ at the door to gain entry. It’s safe, secure and incredibly convenient.
