CableCom, market leader in student broadband provision, has announced its acquisition of student comms experts Campuslife

The two businesses coming together provides a powerful and unique answer to the sector’s continual requirement to improve their students’ experience at university.

Both companies lead their field and are well established in the higher education sector, already working with many of the UK’s top higher education institutions and commercial accommodation providers, each providing a unique and engaging service for students. CableCom is best known in the market for its StudentCom Digital Media platform and managed internet services, and Campuslife for its powerful and dynamic communication platform, Browzer.

The merging of the two businesses, along with their commitment to understanding students’ needs, promises to create an unrivalled end-to-end solution, incorporating best-in-class connectivity, content, communication and unique student insights.

According to Mark Burchfield, Managing Director of CableCom: “We are extremely excited to have the Campuslife team on board, bringing youth and vibrancy to the company. They are well respected in the market, thanks to their huge passion for creating a unique and engaging student experience. We feel there is a natural fit between our businesses which offers many exciting new opportunities to further strengthen our offering to both students and universities.”

As technology continues to change at a rapid pace, with the use of mobile platforms increasing, the demand for a quality wireless service has firmly become part of students’ ever-growing expectations. A trend that has certainly gained pace over the past 12 months, as a growing number of universities have turned to CableCom to deliver quality broadband and pervasive Wi-Fi throughout their student accommodation. Along with excellent connectivity, customers wish to dynamically communicate and provide relevant local content to their students, in whatever digital media format suits them from social media to mobile phone and on demand.  This partnership promises to focus on combining expertise to provide a solution that genuinely delivers these requirements.

Simon Horniblow, Managing Director of Campuslife comments on their new partnership: “When CableCom shared their plans for the future with us there was an instant moment of ‘Yes, this is exciting!’. To now come together and share in those plans is brilliant, we know we can add a lot to it and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Campuslife provide a wide spectrum of university services with innovative, exciting and creative solutions designed to engage with students on a huge range of issues. Their services which include the unique Browzer platform, StudentCookingTV and engaging video content, have proven to be particularly useful in helping various university departments get their messages to the right people at the right time, in a way they understand and enjoy. Through a combination of social media, video and images, Browzer has become a unique and powerful tool that is able to translate the university message and deliver it to the heart of the student community.
