A brave team of four from CableCom Networking, leading providers of Managed Internet Services for student accommodation (delivered via the StudentCom platform), will be embarking on the gruelling Euro Bike Challenge in June this year, all in support of the Children’s Hospice South West. The team includes Managing Director Mark Burchfield and directors Paul Kan, Paul Withey, Tim Pilcher and support driver Rhys Thomas. The route will take the cyclists across four countries, finally ending in Amsterdam at their client site, The Student Hotel. The challenge will be taking place across five days, from the 25th – 29th June.
The 500 mile route will see the directors travelling across the distance of the CableCom network. Starting in Bristol at the University of the West of England, another client of CableCom, the cyclists will then work their way across to Reading enduring over 90 miles in just day one. The route will then see the team travel across to Calais stopping at Bruges, Rotterdam and onto their final destination, Amsterdam.
Managing Director, Mark Burchfield, explained their reasons for creating this challenge: “We want to go the extra mile to support such an incredible charity who provide specialist care to sick children, and we hope that by cycling over 500 miles across our network we will do just that. It will without doubt be a huge challenge for us all, but the money we raise for the charity will be pushing us through every single one of those miles”.
This challenge will certainly be a test of endurance and determination, but the worthwhile cause and money raised for the hospices will be pushing the cyclists through all the pain and saddle sores.
