Celebrate STEM at the Big Bang fair

Birmingham’s NEC to celebrate the Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair, a celebration of STEM subjects for young people in the UK

The Big Bang Fair is an award-winning combination of exciting theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits, as well as careers information from STEM professionals and leading employers.

The national finalists of the National Science + Engineering Competition, which recognises and rewards young people’s achievements in all areas of STEM, will also be showcasing their exciting projects at the Fair.

Young visitors to the Fair will enjoy high-octane theatre shows, over 150 interactive stands and workshops as well as access to careers information, resources and activities. The Fair offers experiences in virtual reality, medicine, marine biology, film and TV, space exploration, explosive chemistry, crime-solving, robots, computer coding, microscopic bugs, and more.

The annual event inspires young people to consider a career in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

Aimed at young people (primarily aged 11-14), it takes place from 16 to 19 March 2016, with school days on Wednesday to Friday and a public day on Saturday.

It will show the exciting and rewarding opportunities out there for those with the right experience and qualifications, by bringing classroom learning to life. All adults must be accompanied by a child.
