Coursera and Mathworks announce online data science programme

The four-course specialisation will help learners to solve domain-specific data problems using MATLAB

Online course provider Coursera has teamed up with computing software creator MathWorks to release a series of courses entitled Practical Data Science With MATLAB.

The series will consist of four courses – the first of which is entitled Exploratory Data Analysis with MATLAB – and will explore the use of MathWorks’ MATLAB software for a variety of data science challenges. Each course takes approximately five weeks, and registration is now open.

Our new series of courses supports multiple types of learners, including those new to data science who want to learn and understand where to apply this in their work.
–Seth DeLand, MathWorks

The four-course specialisation aims to address the growing data skills gap by aiming at engineers, scientists and researchers who need to learn data science either as part of their job, or to expand their career opportunities.

Seth DeLand, technical marketing manager – data science at MathWorks, said: “Our new series of courses supports multiple types of learners, including those new to data science who want to learn and understand where to apply this in their work, as well as domain experts already involved in projects requiring data science who want a deeper understanding so they can begin immediately using data science on a project.”
