Dublin City University launches fintech microcredential

‘Fintech – Financial Innovation’ follows DCU’s announcement of a global partnership with FutureLearn

Dublin City University (DCU) has launched an accredited online short course on fintech.

The course – titled ‘Fintech – Financial Innovation’ – is the institution’s first microcredential, and follows last June’s announcement of a global partnership with online learning platform, FutureLearn.

“The fintech sector offers significant new opportunities for employment and growth in the Irish economy,” said DCU president, Professor Brian MacCraith.

“The flexibility offered by this online course will allow those already in employment the chance to upskill and develop new opportunities in this exciting new area.”

Developed by DCU Business School, the course looks at how modern technology – cloud computing, social media, AI, etc – is making wholesale changes to the financial services sector.

Aimed at professionals looking to keep pace with fintech’s rapid development, as well as those looking to move into the sector for the first time, the course will begin on February 24 and is currently open for applications.
