Seebox – preparing our children for the coming AI revolution!
According to experts, AI or artificial intelligence will be the most disruptive tech trend in the history of IT, as well as in most other industries. The coming AI revolution will have significant consequences and will impact our own but more importantly our children’s lives.
According to Engineering UK, we need more than a million new engineers and technicians over the next five years, just to meet the current demand.
Seebox or ‘Scientific Engineering Education Box’ is an award-winning, innovative game console and learning tool that teaches children the principles of electricity, electronics, coding and science in a fun and practical way.
Seebox is much more than just a game console. It has its own ecosystem of learning content in the form of short animated, entertaining videos built into it. It also incorporates six professional electronic test and measuring instruments, which enable students to do practical experiments with real components whilst learning about electronics and science. Add to that the Learner Management System (LMS), which tracks and records each learner’s progress throughout their school career and you have a winning formula!
Ebookadabra is a ‘Netflix’ of children’s books featuring over a thousand stories aimed at 3–7-year-olds. This reading service is available in the AppStore for £2.99 a month for a family of up to four kids.
Parents can record an audio version of any book and send it to their child if they are unable to read them a bedtime story. There are hundreds of pre-recorded audio books too, with a read-along feature that highlights words as they are read. Ebookadabra works offline allowing up to 15 books to be downloaded to read on the move.
With personalised avatars and themes, virtual rewards, family messaging and a system of educational games that unlock when a story is read, Ebookadabra is a safe and fun reading world for young kids.
Ebookadabra is also developing a version for primary schools. Kids can have fun and learn whilst teachers can work with them individually suggesting books of different difficulties and monitoring their reading progress on a teacher dashboard. Children can continue their reading at home on their own device or by following an audio book read by their teacher.
Learnium is a Social Learning Platform. If you’re wondering what that means, think about an app which sits between an institution’s Learning Management System and social media platforms, like Facebook and LinkedIn. What’s more, Learnium has been designed specifically for educational purposes.
Occupying the space between the LMS and social media, Learnium brings the benefits of social to education. With Learnium you can write status updates, post questions, provide answers, share files, create presentations and work on assignments with your colleagues. All of this is made possible thanks to the Learnium mobile and web app.
This means learners have the type of tools they need to engage with their learning more. By using Learnium, students spend more time learning online, sharing learning materials and communicating with others.
And the best part is the time saved. By logging in on your mobile or computer, you don’t have to travel anywhere to communicate. By answering one question in Learnium, you no longer need to send the same answer out 10 times.
Teachers can sign up for a free account on Learnium. There’s also a paid account if you want to take advantage of some of the more advanced features.
