King’s College London (KCL) has announced the UK’s first Master of Arts in STEM education, to commence in September 2019.
The course will be taught by staff from the Centre for Research in Education in STEM, part of the School of Education, Community and Society at KCL, and will focus on practical STEM knowledge, as well as emerging fields such as environmental education.
Students will engage in both face-to-face and online learning, as part of the course’s blended learning approach. Internship opportunities will also be available through KCL’s association with STEM-focused organisations.
IT services and consulting company Wipro has helped develop the course content, and will provide a number of scholarships to cover up to 70% of tuition fees. The scholarships programme is targeted specifically at educators from opportunity areas, and aims to ensure accessibility for diverse applicants.
