The College worked with design agency Peter & Paul to develop a new identity that relates closely to the original mosaic logo and signage developed by Eric Taylor, past Principal, for the Colleges 110 year old building at Vernon Street. Enjoy Digital were commissioned to build a new website using this identity along with developing new functionality and content.
Head of marketing and communications, Andrew Craske, said: “Our digital offering was dated but Enjoy Digital has now given us a website that showcases all the brilliant work our students produce whilst keeping navigation simple and intuitive – the balance we were aiming for.”
The next phase of the brand refresh was to update and modernise the College website. Leeds based Enjoy Digital brought their expertise to the project by implementing the new identity online and developing the new site. Account Director, Tom Rigden from Enjoy Digital said: “Working with Leeds College of Art provided us with a unique opportunity to create a website that, although having marketing and student acquisition at its core, also serves to showcase the breadth of work and creative talent within the College. The finished product achieves what we set out to do; create something beautiful, yet simple that complements the content and hopefully helps to inspire the next generation of art students to enrol at Leeds College of Art.”
Leeds College of Art’s new website has also adopted additional features such as videos of College staff and students, filmed and produced by alumni White Mill Media (previously Fort4), a corporate video production company. Other special features include Google maps, which enable visitors to the site to walk round the College’s industry-standard facilities. The College is now planning stage two of the site development with Enjoy Digital.
