A new app has been launched to support exchange students studying aboard.
Through GoXchange, users can connect with those already studying abroad to get advice to prepare for the move and make friends when they arrive.
They can also use the app to find internship or employment opportunities.
The app has been designed by the team behind CampusConnect and is free for universities to sign up. Universities control who is authenticated ensuring the system remains safe and secure for its users.
The GoXchange app allows students to share local knowledge and establish a support network before and during their stay abroad.

Daniel Hinkley, co-founder of GoXchange, said: “Exchange programmes are a life-changing opportunity for students, but the extensive admin along with worries about settling into a new city and country can put some off embarking on such an adventure.
“With our new network, our mission is to increase the number of students having an overseas experience as part of their studies and to help them get the most out of it.”

Herveline Roche, outgoing Erasmus administrator at University of Limerick, said: “Every year, about 500 University of Limerick students travel abroad to complete a semester of study at a partner university. Being able to communicate with the students quickly and easily, send updates and notifications through GoXchange is a great advantage.
“The welfare of our students is a top priority for us and helping them settle into their new environment is essential. The GoXchange app allows students to share local knowledge and establish a support network before and during their stay abroad and is therefore hugely beneficial. They can then focus on getting the most out of the semester abroad, both personally and academically.”
