At a time when funding cuts continue to hit councils throughout the UK hard, Bolton Council has found an innovative way to not only save money, but also to generate revenue from obsolete ICT equipment.
Bolton based IT recycling company, Concept Management, successfully procured the contract to remove obsolete, redundant ICT equipment from Bolton Council just under three years ago. Since that time cost savings in excess of £80,000 have been achieved.
Bolton Council Head of IT Services and Strategy, Vinod Vora said: “Prior to working with Concept Management we were actually paying for a company to take the obsolete equipment away. Since working with Concept Management, they not only take the equipment away for free, but also pay us for taking it away. Since using Concept, we’ve never looked back and the cost savings speak for themselves.”
Concept Management began in 2007 as a small company with big ideas. They are now recognised throughout the UK as the leading provider of electronic reuse and recycling services and one of the biggest providers to the NHS nationally, having successfully secured a place on an NHS national framework agreement.
Concept hold ISO 27001, 14001 and 9001, ADISA certification, Information Governance Toolkit Level 3 and are licensed by the Environment Agency.
“It’s great to have secured savings in a world where funding cuts are never far away; we enjoy supporting a local business who are very local, very keen and have never let us down.” Concludes Vinod.
