Media Smart is launching a brand new guide for parents to teach their children about the advertising they come across in their daily lives.
The not-for-profit media literacy initiative develops free educational resources for parents, teachers and guardians.
The ‘Get Media Smart: advertising and social media guide,’ provides a comprehensive and engaging introduction to advertising and social media, which will help develop young people’s ability to distinguish the difference between advertising and other content.
Mark Lund, Chairman of Media Smart and UK CEO of communications agency – McCann Worldgroup said: “We’re launching the guide now as it makes sense to have conversations about advertising with your kids during the festive season when they’re most interested, and the need for them to feel confident and informed online is strongest.”
