Students from Oundle and Kings Cliffe Middle Schools, Gladstone Primary School, Castor CE Primary School, Brigstock Lathams CE School and Studfall Junior School arrived at Oundle School’s SciTec science facilities recently for a day of science workshops and activities.
The day covered all three sciences: cold science and quantum levitation in physics; painting with maggots and insect eating in biology; and producing gas from magnesium and acid in chemistry.
Head of Science at Oundle School, Oli Peck, commented: “If we are serious about producing the scientists of tomorrow, it is important to start investing in our young people today. Getting primary school pupils enthusiastic about science through practical work is an excellent way to develop their love not only of science, but also of learning.”
