Simo Educacion hosts Learning Technology Exhibition

Held at Feria de Madrid on 25-27 October, the event will bring together education professionals from around the world

Simo Educacion’s Learning Technology Exhibition will bring together professionals from the education community to talk trends, latest news and ICT solutions for the classroom. Teachers, heads of educational institutions, ICT coordinators, CEOs, university administrators, and more can learn about and sample the latest features the sector has to offer, whilst discussing their ideas and experiences with peers.

Simo Educacion will present the most distinguished technological tools at its stands and in its halls. These tools are aimed at optimising teaching and learning processes, including proposals involving interactivity for the classroom, solutions for adaptive and collaborative learning, digital content, management and communication platforms, printing solutions, 3D printing, virtual reality and augmented reality, gamification, robotics, programming, touchscreens, projectors and digital pens, and a large variety of other devices and applications for teachers.

The Learning Technology Exhibition will be the venue for a full programme of speeches, presentations and practical workshops, organised in collaboration with Education 3.20, which will feature contributions from around 200 speakers. The event will make use of seven lecture halls, where different sessions will cover the latest in trends, teaching experiences, and innovative initiatives surrounding the ICT sector and its application
within education.

Subjects of great importance to the educational community will be tackled, such as artificial intelligence, emotional learning, neuroeducation, the detection of dyslexia, and green education. Thus far, confirmation of attendance has been received from the North American educationalist, researcher and Artificial Intelligence expert Roger Schank, and Julio Fontán, director of the Fontán de Bogotá School (Colombia), one of the most pioneering in the world.

Also confirmed as speakers are Heike Freire, education consultant and writer; Francisco Mora, neuroscientist and chair of the Madrid Complutense University; Luz Rello, founder of Change Dyslexia; and Rafael Bisquerra, director of the Postgraduate Course in Emotional Learning and Wellbeing at Barcelona University, all of whom will share with delegates their personal vision of how to apply the latest scientific and technological advances to the everyday lives of teachers.

Following on from the success of the practical workshops at the 2016 event, this year SIMO EDUCACIÓN will dedicate two rooms exclusively to training workshops on very wide-ranging topics. These topics include, but are not limited to: programming, robotics, educational use of drones, inclusive education, service learning, virtual reality, big data in education, yoga and mindfulness in the classroom, gamification, maker methodology, assessment and rubrics, and teamwork.

Another of the key points at this year’s exhibition will be the presentation of 30 ICT experiences in class chosen from some 350 educational suggestions received at this gathering from teachers from all over Spain. The presentation will include initiatives in programming and robotics, 3D printing, gamification, team working, service learning, mobile learning, the flipped classroom, project working, emotional education and more.
