The S-Series offers a longer lasting lamp time of 10000 hours (Short Throw) and 6,000 hours (Ultra Short Throw) and achieves outstanding picture quality through 2600 – 3000 lumens colour brightness.
The line-up comprises four new Short Throw models – the VPL-SW235, VPL-SW225, VPL-SX235 and VPL-SX225 – and five Ultra-Short Throw projectors – the VPL-SW630, VPL-SW620, VPL-SX630, VPL-SW630C and VPL-SW620C.
Perfect for smaller classrooms and meeting rooms, Sony’s Short Throw and Ultra-Short Throw projectors can throw high-resolution images up to approximately 2m diagonal across onto a whiteboard, wall, or any white surface – from distances as close as 44cm (XGA Ultra Short Throw) and 75cm (XGA Short Throw).
Sony’s 3LCD Short Throw projectors provide excellent picture quality with 2600 – 3200 lumens class colour brightness for natural and vivid image colour. As well as the extended lamp life, the projectors come with additional features that make them eco-friendly and reduce the total cost of ownership.
Eco mode automatically turns off the lamp after 10 minutes without an input signal, while Auto Dimming reduces brightness to save energy and extend lamp hours.
The VPL-SW630C and VPL-SW620C models come with enhanced interactivity, including dual pen and auto calibration, as well as additional rich education tools, making it easier for students and teachers to collaborate effectively in the classroom. All S-Series models can be connected wirelessly via a PC (Windows or Mac) or tablet (iOS or Android).
Robert Meakin, business and education product manager, Sony Professional Solutions Europe, said: “Sony is continuing to enhance its projector line up to meet the needs of the Education market.
“We now have a very strong, unified line up, that meets the needs of Secondary Schools, with the recently enhanced E Series range for replacement business and now the Short Throw and Ultra-Short Throw S-Series.
“In developing the S-Series it was all about understanding how projectors are used in the classroom and how we could make them the most efficient and green as possible. We have standardised our entire Education line up to meet the needs of teachers and enhance connectivity and collaboration in the classroom.”
