Britian’s serial digital entrepreneur Chris Morling has launched his latest start-up venture, Studee.com.
The new disruptive platform is on a mission to revolutionise the university enrolment process for international students. Driven by a multilingual team of NAFSA-qualified advisors who lead students through the journey from application to enrolment, Studee will transform how students search for overseas universities.
The platform’s USP lies in its pledge to promote sustainable international education; on top of streamlining the higher education application process, Studee will plant trees for every student they enrol, contributing towards absorbing the CO2 released into the atmosphere every time they fly to their chosen university. The international student enrolment process is outdated and no longer fit for purpose for today’s centennials – a generation that has never known a world without the internet, and who will bear the brunt of climate change.

Morling founded his first start-up, a successful financial comparison site called money.co.uk, 12 years ago. In 2017, Morling was fondly dubbed ‘Britain’s best boss’ when he spent £3m on renovating a castle in the Cotswolds for his team, complete with extravagant benefits. Now, the entrepreneur has dedicated his expertise to disrupting the international education sector.
“Studee is reinventing the way international students find a university by making it simple and deeply personalised, whilst adding transparency in an industry which in recent years has sadly suffered some corruption and has largely ignored the climate crisis,” said Mr Morling.
“I believe education is the most powerful way to positively change the world but I’m also addressing the elephant in the room – the fact international education has negative consequences for our environment,” he added. “So for every student we enrol, to contribute towards compensating the CO2 released when students fly to their chosen university, we’ll pay for trees to be planted on their behalf. Our goal is to plant one million trees over the coming years and transform the way international students find their dream university abroad. Studee will grow rapidly over the coming months – we’re overflowing with ideas.”
