Talis welcomes library professionals in Higher Education to annual conference Talis Insight Europe 2018, a two-day conference in Birmingham. The event explores the latest topics in higher education such as the TEF and the impact of technology on teaching and learning, as well as presenting experiences of library professional. It’s the fourth time Talis have hosted this annual conference which will take place at the REP Theatre on the 1st – 2nd May 2018.
The keynotes come from Professor John Grattan, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Student Experience and International, Aberystwyth University, who will present on ‘Quality and the student experience in a marketised economy’. You will also hear from Diane Job, Director of Library Services, University of Birmingham; Kate Price, University Librarian, Queen Mary University of London; and Jane Harvell, Interim University Librarian, University of Sussex.
This year, the agenda incorporate more student voices. Laura Ritchie, Professor of Learning and Teaching, University of Chichester, will be speaking about her experiences of integrating reading lists into her teaching. She’ll be bringing along two of her students, who will speak about their learning experience and play jazz live on stage.
There will be talks from the Talis team, including a keynote from CEO David Errington who will be sharing our vision and future direction. Over the two days, sessions will also include a combination of further updates from Talis, as well as presentations contributed by the Talis User Group community, exchanging ideas and best practices.
The awards dinner on the evening of the first day will provide delegates with a chance to network and interact, and an opportunity to see the Talis Aspire Community’s achievements from the past 12 months.
