The November issue of IE Today is out now!

The November issue of Independent Education Today magazine is now available to download from our website and app store

No sooner had the autumn term started than we were already looking towards the Christmas break. The approaching festive season is the perfect opportunity to teach students about different cultural traditions – our special catering feature on page 14 is sure to be full of inspiration.

In the meantime, we have been busy consulting the experts for advice on a range of topics, including safeguarding (page 24), employment contracts (page 26), winter weather (page 30) and going paperless (page 38). We also got the chance to talk to Joe Davies, head of Haileybury, about sponsoring Haileybury Turnford academy on page 32.

The themes prevalent at this year’s industry events reflect the constant evolution of the independent sector – including, most recently, calls for exam reform at the recent HMC conference. We’ll be at Educated Yorkshire this month to get the latest on topics that matter to you, from school partnerships to increasing revenue.

Next month, we take a look back at the year that was for independent schools, with comment from top associations and heads across the UK. As 2015 comes to a close, we’ll cover the trends and developments set to be pivotal in 2016.
