The March issue of University Business magazine is now available to download.
ON THE COVER: Now at week 66, the first phase of University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s £300 million SA1 Swansea Waterfront development is 70% complete.
Twenty-two new jobs have been created at the development, alongside opportunities for 12 apprentices and 17 work experience placements. With a total of 22 welsh subcontractors working on the project, to date £18.5million worth of contracts have been secured by Wales-based businesses.
Leading libraries: University libraries are changing rapidly to keep up with learning trends and the increasing demands from fee-paying students, with a newfound focus on flexibility and variety. These days libraries are less about being solemn spaces of solace, but bustling community one-stop-shops where students can learn and live at the same time.
Bett 2018: Bett’s 34th year, held at London’s ExCel arena from 24th-27th January was, as always, packed to the rafters with educators, edtech enthusiasts, and a huge range of companies, from established giants like Microsoft and Google, to the sector’s up-and-comers, stationed within the Bett Futures section of the arena, reserved especially for start-ups.
Edtech index: Do you know a MOOC from a VLE? And what about Blockchain and AI? Our index explains these key edtech terms.
