Virtual reality check for teachers

Educationalists in Wiltshire explored the latest in edtech at Techs4Education’s Discovery Day

Teachers and IT managers from 15 schools across Wiltshire recently convened for Techs4Education’s October Discovery Day in Swindon. The workshop was designed to allow attendees to explore new and upcoming technology before investing.

Guests were able to sample education-specific virtual reality (VR) and learn more about its game-changing potential, from creating real-time science experiments in a virtual laboratory to going on virtual field trips all over the world.

Techs4Education – providers of IT support services and technology solutions to schools in the South and South West – also offered a detailed overview of Microsoft’s latest education toolkit.

Graham Ford, Techs4Education Operations Director, said: “It was great to see teachers and school IT managers effectively being ‘in class’ at our Discovery Day.  They enjoyed the chance of giving VR a genuine work out and gaining an insight into how new education apps can benefit teaching and workload management.”
