The third video in Codio’s ‘Ask the Experts’ video series focuses on the BCS Certificate in Computer Science Teaching and provides an overview and advice for teachers considering embarking on a professional Computer Science accreditation. The Certificate is designed to help teachers develop the skills required to demonstrate proficiency and confidence in teaching Computer Science.
Speaking to Codio is Sue Sentance, National Academic Coordinator at Computing at School (CAS) and Senior Lecturer in Computer Science Education at King’s College London. Sue talks about the structure of the BCS Certificate, the benefits it presents to teachers starting to teach Computer Science and how the Codio cloud-based coding and content platform can support them throughout the course if they choose to take advantage of the free access offered.
BCS e-assessors Ghita Kouadri Mostefaoui and Fintan Culwin also provide their insight into what they look for as assessors and why learning Computer Science in schools is so important for the digital economy.
