Woobo launches educational AI robot for kids

‘It’s a learning launchpad and a talking puppy rolled into one,’ claim the makers

Woobo, makers of smart child companions designed to enhance kids’ educational and emotional development, have launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Woobo robot – a cuddly, artificial intelligence (AI)-based “learning launchpad” intended to spark children’s curiosity and exploration.

Priced at $99, $119 and $139, Woobo is available for discounted pre-order at Kickstarter.

“Children love exploring and having fun with a curious educational playmate, and parents want an interactive companion that gives their kids a taste of learning,” said Feng Tan, founder and CEO of Woobo, Inc. “Woobo is an interactive robot friend who introduces kids to new concepts through fun and interactive learning experiences. It’s a learning launchpad and a talking puppy rolled into one!”

Woobo works as a child companion who sparks curiosity through interactive, fun, and imaginative content. A functional education and entertainment platform within a soft and goofy robot-playmate, Woobo can talk, express feelings, tell stories, sing songs, and play games with kids. Woobo gets smarter and more engaging all the time.

Woobo is powered by the following hardware and capabilities:

 – Microphone/speakers/WiFi capability (e.g., music, kids’ reading, etc.)

 – Sensors

 – Complementary mobile app to set up daily routines

 – Battery powering 48 hours of normal daily usage

Woobo is 9” tall, weighs about 1.5 pounds, and includes a parenting app for iOS and Android setup and control capabilities. It will retail for $199.99 when it launches in 2018.
