Every college and university knows the importance of good governance and the need to manage data, but what does that really mean in 2021? What is data governance, why should it form a key part of overall strategy and how can it be effectively implemented?

The truth is, there is no one right answer.

In this webinar, we seek to answer those questions, explore the benefits of taking a strategic approach to data and how it can improve every facet of college or university operations, from compliance and analytics, right through to student experience and recruitment.

The ability to manage and assure data operations is a core organisational competence. Creating a data governance framework that is appropriate to the scale and complexity of your organisation is a critical step in developing this competence.

But there are various ways of thinking about data governance, and each is valid with the potential to deliver real value through improved data capabilities.

Following on from the live panel webinar, Andy’s latest paper sets out the case for data governance in detail and considers what a coherent and pragmatic approach to data governance looks like.
