National contest to boost maths skills during Maths Week 2020

To celebrate Maths Week this year, the M-Fluencers Maths Week Quest gives participants the chance to win great prizes for their schools

With England celebrating Maths Week from 9–14 November this year, students across the country have been given the chance to compete in a national maths competition, M-Fluencers Maths Week Quest.

Designed for students across all school years, the contest hopes to elevate levels of student engagement in maths, also seeking to bolster attainment and maintain performance consistency in the subject, whilst also giving participants the chance to win prizes for their schools.

Competitors will be required to complete a series of online maths challenges, with each task contributing to the school’s total score. Amazon vouchers are up for grabs for the top 10 performing institutions, and digital certificates will be granted to students who earn more than 150 points throughout the competition.

Developed by maths resource provider Mangahigh, the competition welcomes applications from schools across the country, regardless of whether or not they are existing users. Once registered, schools gain access to Mangahigh’s maths resources free of charge.

Mohit Midha, CEO and co-founder of Mangahigh, commented: “Each student from early years to upper secondary school age can take part free of charge. The maths activities on Mangahigh are designed in a fun ‘game’ format to really engage the students and encourage them to return for more, while developing their conceptual knowledge of key maths topics.”
