Dr Richard Walker, University of York
Dr Walker has over 20 years’ experience supporting learning technology developments within the higher education sector. He is currently employed by the University of York (United Kingdom), leading the strategic development of e-learning services as Head of the Programme Design and Learning Technology Team. This encompasses service management responsibilities for all key learning technology systems including the virtual learning environment, lecture recording and e-assessment solutions. He also coordinates curriculum developments for blended and fully online programmes and leads on staff development activities for the effective use of learning technologies in programme design and delivery.
Dr Kate Gilliver, Cardiff University
Dr Kate Gilliver is a Reader in Ancient History and Associate Dean for Joint Honours at Cardiff University. Over nearly three decades of working in higher education she has explored different approaches to learning and teaching ancient history including flipped learning that made use of a wide variety of class activities and personal lecture capture well before the sector’s need to shift to blended learning in 2020.
Debra Garretson, Panopto
Debra has worked with organisations across four continents to help them select and implement technology-based solutions which enhance the learning experience. Currently Debra is Director of Accounts for Panopto EMEA, a leading Video Platform software provider used by hundreds of educational and corporate institutions worldwide. During her time at Panopto she has managed over 150 implementation projects and has worked directly with many of the world’s leading universities such as the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford, as well as large multinationals such as HSBC and Diageo. A published author in economics, Debra holds MA, MSc. and MBA.
